If you’re into collecting railroad memorabilia, Municibid.com has an item you might find appealing — a wooden bridge built by the Reading Railroad Co. across its Perkiomen Branch Line in Montgomery County.

The bridge is on Salford Station Road and is closed to vehicles, but is still used by pedestrians and bicyclists. Upper Salford, which is auctioning off the bridge, plans to replace it with a bridge that can handle vehicular traffic.

The minimum bid is $100. The winning bidder will be announced at the Upper Salford Township Supervisors meeting Tuesday night and has until Feb. 28 to move the structure.

Municibid.com is a government-auctions website I last wrote about when it was listing sports cards and comic books that Montgomery County seized from a drug dealer. http://www.bizjournals.com/philadelphia/blogs/technology/2010/08/municibid_website_like_an_e-bay_for_municipalities.html

It’s run by Pottstown resident Greg Berry.
